2.Open ODIN. (And close Kies, if you have it open. It is important to have ODIN open BEFORE connection the phone via USB!)
3.Select the PDA,pit,Modem,CSC file in Odin.
4.Turn the phone into the download mode by pressing and holding VolumeDown+Home+Power.
5.Connect your phone with your computer and wait until the drivers are installed.
6.When the drivers are installed, click Start.
7.The phone will be flashed and once it’s finished, it will boot up. (Do NOT disconnect the usb-cable, remove the battery or otherwise interrupt this process!)
8.You have successfully flashed your phone.

AND which file to put where in odin(PDA,pit,Modem,CSC)  because there are 4 file in the firmware package and I dont understand where to put which one(I am updating via odin for the first time and I have always updated the phone via kies)......
THe files are
1-  APBOOT_I9000XWJVZ_CL762604_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
2-  CODE_I9000XWJVZ_CL762604_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
3-  GT-I9000-CSC-HOME-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
4-  MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5

And is MODEM and PHONE one and the same because In Odin I have Phone and no Modem option

And also in ODIN v1.3 and v1.7 it says GT-P1000 in the black bar on top of odin
and in v1 it says ODin3 (ANDROID + SLP)

Use: 2. code as PDA
3. CSC as csc
4. modem as phone/modem
If you use Odin, you'll tick repartition and put PIT_512.

Sent from my teamhacksung's ICS.
