Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. really appreciate on your advise n sharing.

I'm not so sure whether my SGS is a singapore set, but it has a Singtel word in my SGS, so I assume it is a singapore set. The problem is, when I managed to connect to kies, and click on the 'Firmware upgrade', then this message appears

Current version : PDA:JF4 / PHONE:JF4 / CSC:OLB
This device's version cannot be updated.

I have no idea about this. when I compared on Omnian screen shot, my phone CSC:OLB is a bit weird, does it suppose to CSC:JF4 instead, rite?

anybody ever faced this situation, really appreciate on your sharing...

Hi warner1985,

Nice to see you here, in the Forum rather than PMs  Smile

Yes, your CSC is kind of funny. It should show JF4 in Kies, instead of only the front portion of OLBJF4. Try keying *#1234# in your dialpad.

Where did you bought your GS?

Yes, it is from SingTel.

Yours was an older version. After JF4 and before JPA (Froyo), it should be JG4, but I don't know whether is this the cause for your error.

Any chance you going to Singapore?

I am from Singapore, the first batch of Singtel sets had a bug that made them unrecognisable on kies. Your only hope is to either
1) Flash to JG4 manually using odin using the correct pit . then flash to JPA WITHOUT a pit file
2) Go to singapore service center to get it flash.

Let me know if you need help flashing, it's quite simple, just that you need to backup your apps and data, I recommend titanium root for apps+data, and for sms, up to you to find what you like

Have a plate of Chicken Rice . Of course go to the SSC and let them update for you.  Smile

Okay, maybe, let's try This and see if it helps.
