Hi guys. I'm portuguese, and I really want to update my Galaxy S to Android Froyo 2.2. I love the phone as it is now, but sometimes it has some lag issues. Hope that this firmware might fix it.

Installing Kies now, waiting for the new firmware to come to Portugal.
just press cancel and continue upgrade

hello friends
is there any specific date for the galaxy s android 2.2 firmware update in India. Kies is showing that you have the updated version.

actually there aren't any release dates from Samsung regarding the update as it is already available from Google.

am i missing something or not? else do we have to choose from other alternatives available over the internet.

Kindly help.

thanks

I am trying to figure out if Kies wont Update because I have rooted the device (I unrooted it before trying this).

Is this the normal message everyone is getting when trying to Update when it isn't available? (see attachment..)

Cause it says Update available but it's not letting me Update. I am thinking of doing a hard reset but I have done so much customization, purchases and my game saves.

Is there a way to back up the stuff or something? btw do my purchases stay or do I loose them and I have to buy em again?

So basically I am new to Droid and all of this great community, but my question is that I hear people talking about Froyo 2.2 and I was wondering how to update from ECLAIR.UCJH7.

My About Phone States the Following:
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1

Baseband Version: I897UCJH7

Kernel Version: 2.6.29
jetaek.lee@sep-11 #2

Build Number: ECLAIR.UCJH7

I live in the US and my phone is rooted.

Thanks!
Tony

Here in Holland the Froyo has also landed  Sticking out tongue .
After upgrade Kies to _100 it came up with the 'Firmware available' message. Froyo downloaded and installed in no time at all.
Froyo is great! Hope y'all can check it out soon.

What I did was download Kies from Samsung today 7 Nov. Install it, I connect my Galaxy S but was not recognized, so I rebooted my phone and reconnect. Was then recognized and on Kies there is already an icon to lower right to update the phone. I clicked that and just waited about 10-15 minutes. Don't touch your phone until the Kies said completed. Your phone will reboot and done. I went to firmware on the phone and it says 2.2. I saw changes. Good.
