Hi,

1. Flash e.g.  JPU.
2. Download "Root Explorer" from Market, install it.
3. Open "Root Explorer".
4. Go: /System/CSC: hier there are several providers:
   e.g.: VDI- Vodafone-Ireland
          XEU- O2, Te....-Mobile Ireland
5. Write down which one you need: e.g.: VDI.
6. Check your IMEI dialing *#06#. Write down it.
7. type on the dialer, *#272*???????????????# (??????????????? it's your IMEI, it must have15 digits), check now which provider is set.(probably XEN or XEU).
8. now you can chose your CSC (e.g. VDI) and install, then it'll reboot (it may take some time, you'll see bootloader applying the changes), you'll have to do the initial configuration and it's done!
9. You'll get some pre-installed apps. of your provider.
10. If you don't like it, you can choose another one to try it or go back to basic CSC. using from step 7.

Saszseb.

Need help trying to put Samsung firmware back on my phone.  Phone is from Singapore. Trying to put DXJPA on my phone.  I keep getting the following error.

E:Error in /cache/recovery/sec_csc.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.

I tried wiping cache and factory reset and reload firmware.  After wiping cache and factory reset I get mesages saying that Multi_CSC installing.  After reboot, phone is stuck on Galaxy S logo

DDJG4 does load but kies will not update it, did regedit but kies still will not load.  Used old version of kies (1.5.1.10062_7).

Can anyone help me get past the status 7 error or help me get DDJG4 to update?  Thanks

Hi,

1. Can you use 3 buttons combo?
2. Have you used "Odin" yet?
If both answers "yes", you can flash DDJG4.
Dial *#1234# and tell me pls. the result.

DDJG4 loads fine, but kies will not update to 2.2. Tried the regedit trick, kies still says that phone can not be upgraded. I put DDJG4 it back on so I have a working phone.  I would like to get back the DX 2.2 firmware

PDA:I9000DDJG4
Phone:I9000DDJG4
CSC:I9000DDJG4

I used odin 1.3, 1.7, and 1.8.  When I flash DX firmware I get the error.  When I get the error, the phone gives me the option to clear cache and wipe.  After I reboot from the menu I can not get back to the debug menu only the download menu.

I tried to use a custom rom from romkitchen.org.  The instructions said to install speedmod kernel in order to load the romkitchen via update.zip.

Is the speedmod kernel still on the phone? If so how do I but the samsung kernel back on?  I thought the kernel was part of the samsung rom.

Hi,

you are on DDJG4 (Eclair, 2.1) and would like to update DXJPA (Froyo 2.2),aren't you?
have you downloaded the ROM from hier?Sadurl=http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/samsung-galaxy-s-rooting/(official)(firmwares)galaxy-s-i9000-download-only/]http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/samsung-galaxy-s-rooting/(official)(firmwares)galaxy-s-i9000-download-only/[/url]

1. Which files (PDA, Pit, Modem) does it contain?
2. The Speedmod kernel is for installing Darky's ROM. Your ROM doesn't contain this.
3. BEFORE flashing a ROM, you should do a factory reset!!
I probably can help you-if it's needed-flashing DXJPA using Odin.
4. Does the 3 buttons combo works?
5. Have you updated KIES?
6. Is Samsung_USB_Driver OK?
It's very important for you to get download mode!

I am using firmware from this thread and samfirmware.com.

Just pulled DXJP1 and was able to load it.  Everything else except DDJG4 locked up after the sec_csc error.

When the firmware fails I can only gointo download mode. Debug mode will not come up.

I started with the lastest version of kies.  Went back to old version to try regedit trick.

I dont know if the USB driver is having problems.  Odin is tanking to the phone.

Here are the different firmware's that I tried. I used the guide on samfirmware.com to determine which pit to use.

I9000DDJG4 - 512
   ADD_ODD.tar

I9000DXJF4 - 512
   AP_S1_PDA_DXJF4_CL363024.tar
   SS_DL.dll

I9000DXJG4-kies-backup - 512
   CODE_I9000DXJG4.tar
   CSC_I9000DXJG4.tar
   MODEM_I9000DXJG4.tar

I9000DXJP1 - 803
   GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OLB.tar.md5
   I9000DXJP1.tar.md5
   I9000DXJP1-REV03-PDA-mid-CL532843.tar.md5

I9000DXJPA - 803
   CODE_I9000DXJPA.tar.md5
   MODEM_I9000DXJPA.tar.md5

I9000DXJPE - 803
   JPE_JPA_JPB.tar

I don't know what the SS_DL.dll file is for.  One of the other firware had a copy, I moved it to the ODIN directory to see if ODIN needed.

I put the newest Kies on my other computer.  Both the old and new say the DXJP1 cant not be upgraded. According to the chart on samfirmware DXJP1 is from Aug, which means it is one of the Beta's.  My phone did get its upgrade late Nov or early Dec, which means I should be on JPA or JPE.

Hi,

glad of it.

I wrote above:"The Speedmod kernel is for installing Darky's ROM. Your ROM doesn't contain this." I was wrong. Speedmod kernel is not only for Darky's ROM but stock ROM, too.

Dear Iron Singh,
Thank you for that quick reply. Unfortunately KIES is not showing any updates, firmware upgrade is not highlighted in KIES. What are the other possibilities, how can i update to latest version? what are the new features in the latest version.
Kies is showing :      This version of the device cannot be updates

                                Current firmware version:PDA:JPA/PHONE:JPB/CSC:JPA(XSG)

Is there an updated version which i can dowload and install??
Can you give me the link to the new firmware?
Please help.
