My galaxy S 4G only has total space of 514 MB.  Under 50 mb free.  I am constantly having a "Low on Space" internal phone storage warning.

I rooted my phone and was able to delete some of the pre-loaded crap-apps but stlll having low space.  I wish I could move some apps to the SD card but even with a rooted phone and App 2 SD installed I still can't move these apps to the SD card.

Why is there such a low space on this phone?  Can space be added? Why can't i move so many of these apps to the SD card?

I'm having the same issues (as I think a lot of folks are as well) I thought that a bigger SD card would help but it doesn't matter when a lot of the apps wont give the "move to SD card" option. I haven't done ANY of the fancy stuff that ranman1 has but am constantly battling constant memory issues. Any answer that works will be great.

You can lose data stored in a memory card at any time. This can happen when you use the card on a camera. You don't need to worry too much when this happens. You can still recover the data with ease.
