Hi,
I am planning to install a custom rom, but I was told to install CWM first before I flash the phone. I downloaded ROM manager and flash clockworkmod recovery from this app. Then when I reboot into recovery mode I got error message "failed to verify whole-file signature", then I found this link ( http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-s-i9000/)
I went to XDA website as per advised, but I couldn't find the version (JVN) for my phone. Here is my phone detail:
Model no : GT-I9000
Firm ver : 2.3.3
baseband ver : I9000XXJVQ
Kernel ver : 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVN-CL366455root@DELL86#2
Build no : GINGERBREAD.XWJVN
Please help, I nee to have CWM working on my phone before I flash the custom rom.

Flash the latest Speedmod or Midnight kernel via Odin or Heimdall to get cwm and root privilegs. After reboot you can flash a custom Rom via recovery.
