i cant root my vibrant 2.2 froyo with the z4root ! PLEASE HELP

ok im not really smart on this but i do know how to follow directions and thats what i have done says to make sure im in debugging mode wich i am and also make sure im plugged into my pc and nothing! the app starts .... i hit the temp root button  and i also tried the permanent root button and netiher one worked .says on the bottom of the app after i start it that  (running exploit in order to obtain acess..... and thats it . will not go any further. please help

I wondered if this had happened to anyone else.
Don't know about 2.2 but when I rooted my 2.1 I downloaded the apk, installed then run and had exactly the same problem, it just did, well, nothing.
For another reason I restated (soft reset) the phone and then tried Z4 again and it worked straight away.
If you are rooting so you can apply a lagfix then permanently root it, I did a temporary root and when I applied OCLF it all went fine until the restart then it bricked.
Turns out OCLF needs root access at start up.

Thanx Lisa but it was no big, took it back to VF and they flashed 2.2 onto it.
