So i've upgraded to 2.3.4 (and tried 2.3.5) but realized I can not root because of a locked bootloader. Anyone have an idea to unlock the bootloader?

Bootloader has nothing to do with rooting.
Which ROM are you on?

Wauw. Yes the bootloader has a lot to do with Rooting. (HTC anyone?) You lock a bootloader you can not root unless you like going the real difficult route sometimes. I just want to keep the KJ3 rom (2.3.5)

Bootloader is important by flashing a ROM. There are some ROMs without bootloader.
Why is it important?
If you are on a Gingerbread based custom/stock ROM and want to flash cyanogenMod, therefore you need Froyo bootloader, but you have a Gingerbread one. In this case you should flash a Froyo bootloader on the Gingerbread ROM.
