Hiya all,
Here are the details of my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 as it stands...
--> About phone
Firmeware version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9000BVJV2
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000BVJV7-CL213736 root@DELL101 #2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.BVJV7
--> *#1234#
PDA: I9000BVJV7
PHONE: I9000BVJV2
CSC: I9000RAJV5
This is a problem... this is only a problem because I want to flash my phone will all sorts of things, right now I'd like to flash CaynogenMod 7.1 rom and Glitch 13.1 kernel.
The problem is the phone was upgraded to gingerbread 2.3.3 before I got it with 3e recovery, and as you'll know 3e is stopping me from installing CWM and having an Android adventure.
I know to get rid of 3e and the stock kernel I should use Odin to flash a CF-Root kernel that best fits my modem and kernel which has CWM built in.
That's great but I don't want to stay with the CF-Root kernel and would rather run the Glitch 13.1 kernel for OC'ing purposes (if anyone knows of a better kernel that would work just as well with CyanogenMod please post here or PM me).
However, I believe switching from CF-Root to Glitch will cause issues with CWM, the CF-Root kernels thread on XDA devs says that if you're switching to a different kernel from CF-Root you will lose CWM... is that true if I flash Glitch using CWM (that is provided by CF-Root)?
All I really want is CWM recovery :'( installing CWM from ROM Manager doesn't work because of 3e that comes with gingerbread.......... can you flash CWM using Odin?
Also, am I getting this completely wrong? If so please put me right and help me figure out this nightmare.
Please can someone help me... cheers all.
