Just aquired new SGlxy. I transfered my nos thru google to new phone but phone will not allow me to recreate seperate groups. I need to be able to send texts out in groups ,as is now all I can do is send out 10 at a time and have to scroll through all names individually.

You can do that:
1. create a new group:
On your google account on PC (www.gmail.com) you can create new groups.
Then make sync on your phone. The new group(s) will appear on your contacts:
open "contacts">menu>more>display options: choose "Google". Hier tick your new group(s).

2. SMS to Group-members:
open "Messaging">New message>Group>tap the name of the "Group"> tick the member(s) of the group then "Add".
