What is the benifit of rooting your phone? What is different about it? Please explain. Thanks

Rooting allows you to install custom Roms... Gives you control over your cpu which means that with the right kernel you can over clock or under clock, you can install excellent backup apps and other tools that only work on rooted devices. Rooting gives you access (through explorer apps) to root files where you have full r/w control.. Remove bloatware.. And I'm sure there is more that I'm missing.
