Hey everyone,
I have been pulling out my hair on this trying to get a fix, and it seems that every time I get close....I hit a huge wall that stops me dead in my tracks.
My screen was broken recently, I received my replacement promptly.  However, I forgot that for about two weeks all of the pictures, video, and files were saved to my phone.  I saved them to the phone because my SD card was full of music etc.
SO.... I have downloaded Android AVD and from what I understand, by connecting the USB there should be some way that I can see my screen on my computer since I am not able to view it on the actual phone because of the damage.  I also tried Power Data Recovery tool and it doesn't recognize that my device is plugged into the computer.  When I go to my computer I see SGH-T9999 but when I click it, the folder is empty.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated,
            Thanks,
                     Jerrett

I hate to be the bearer of bad news...

I just had the same problem. I dropped my s3 and cracked my screen and am trying to retrieve the data that was saved on my phone. I have tried everything I could think of and finally gave up and called samsung. They pretty much told me everything that you and I both have figured out...It's not possible to sync your phone with your computer without the use of youre screen. The only option that I have come across is to take my phone to a third-party place (one of those cheap phone repairs places) and replace.

Sorry.

I had the same problem trying to get contacts off my galaxy s3 with a broken screen, and the solution was a program called "My Phone Explorer" from http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ It's free, you DON'T have to be rooted, modded, or apped to use it, and it seriously took me a minute or so to get my contacts AND text messages. I had tried everything I could find on the web, plus the people at my Verizon store, but couldn't find a solution that worked for retrieving contacts AND SMS messages from a phone with a broken screen. I hope it's as good for you as it was for me. This seriously was a couple of clicks for a solution. All I ask is that you tell two people about it if it works for you, since this program is free, and promotion is the best thing we can do for the guy that made it. Donation is also an option on the fjsoft website.

Dr.Fone for Android is an easy to use program which recovers contacts, messages, photos, music, video and more on your Android Phone. All the process only takes a few minutes. Keep data on your smartphone original, no damage, deletion or modification at all.

Have a try on it, the program works with most android phones like Samsung GALAXY, Motorola, LG Optimus, HTC, Sony, etc.
