My new (7-13-12) Samsung galaxy lll screen goes blank and become’s unresponsive while making a basic phone call.
Here what happens…..go to phone, dial #, press send & screen goes blank. Call goes thru as normal, but if you need to enter a pass word let’s say, there is NO way, If you want to use “Speaker” there is NO way to get screen back on. Screen will only come back on AFTER call has ended. If you get a voice mail it will keep on recording until it time’s out, no way to press “End”. This can be a minute or 30 minutes depending on particular voice mail/recorder.
So I go back to Verizon store 4 days after purchase (7-17-12) & they try everything I tried, including all the phone related settings, also rebooting & updates ect. Still does it. They wanted me to wait for updated software. I went back 4 days later (7-21-12) & we tried everything again & Verizon finally gave me a new phone. I left store & next outgoing phone call I placed it did it AGAIN ! I couldn’t get back to the Verizon store till 2 days later, (7-23-12)Today, & again they verified it’s malfunctions gave me a new phone & we tried it at the store & worked. 2 hours later, just now, I used it for an outgoing phone call & this phone does it to.
BTW- it only does it about ½ the time, other times works fine.
In a few days I’m out of the 14 day “No Hassle” Verizon Store warranty period & will have to deal with Samsung’s warranty center via/mail. ANYBODY else having this problem ???
