I purchased a samsung galaxy s2 on ebay. When I put my Tmobile SIM inside all I am getting is EDGE network. I have tried changing all settings but I can't get 3G or 4G network.
I tested with swapping the SIM out with a friend's ATT sim card and I was able to get on to ATT's 3G network.

I have a 2 year Tmobile plan and I feel I am stuck. Is there any app or any solution that will help me get onto Tmobile's 3G or 4G network. Being on edge network sucks as you all know

Thanks for your help.

I also have an unlocked Galaxy S II that I bought on Amazon and am having the exact same problem with only EDGE on T-Mobile. After spending the last 3 days on the phone with T-Mobile's tech support, and 2 hours at the T-Mobile store, there is absolutely no solution anyone came up with. However, one of the store's employees told me that when the S II is officially released by T-Mobile, it will come with a different type of SIM card that will be used for the S II only. He believes that may be the problem.

So, until then, we're either stuck on EDGE-only or perhaps someone might have some ideas to try... Any help is always greatly appreciated!

Actually, while I was at the T-Mobile store, the employee checked all that for me and said that the phone was capable of everything T-Mobile offered. So, this is also not the problem. Crying

definitely a SIM card issue. Definitely not a phone issue as your phone was able to use 3G and 4G using other SIMs. change your mobile service provider.
