Hi all, First post here. I have not received my Galaxy S 2 yet, it is coming from UK to Canada for me. I am giving up on my Nexus One although it is a great little unit. I am fed up with the screen freezing many times daily. My question is: When I get my Galaxy S 2 is the way to transfer/activate/setup just as simple as installing my sim card and logging into my Google acct. I have been told that it is done this way. It seems to easy to be true.
If there is a link or advice please move me.

Thank you

Jim

If it is unlocked it should be that easy. I've used my unlocked Omnia2 in another country and that's how it worked. Be aware that, since you have a device from the UK it you won't get 2 band for data if you are on Bell or Telus. I think you will if you're on WIND but you have to double check.

Have fun with the new phone. I've thought of going that route but decided I like to be able to go in a store if I have a problem.

Try the search or check the how to thread before asking a question.

Thank you for the reply, I asked Clove (Where I am getting it from) if the frequencies were ok to use here. I quoted:
 1.
GSM/GPRS   Yes
Frequencies   850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
Speed
3G/HSPA   Yes
Frequencies   850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
The reply was:
Jim
"The frequencies that you state are correct."
I also called them with the same question, Their answer was "We talked to Samsung and they assured us that the frequencies were correct".
Maybe I should be giving them another call, or just wait and see what happens when it arrives.
I am with Fido which is part of Rogers.

If everything includes 850, you're golden. Plus Rogers is more international. Again, have fun and post a review:)
