Hi everyone.
I am new here and new to Android world. I was always a Nokia fan but the N8 was a huge disappointment. But still, the sync with Outlook was easy and well preformed via BT. Now i have the best phone on the market today, and i cannot get a simple thing like syncing my calender, notes and tasks done. (Contacts are synced but with some problems). Can anyone tell me how i can sync the above to my phone? I prefur not doing it via Google...
Thanks in advance,

I'm a newbie so please excuse my non technical approach in explaining how I synced my calendar and contacts.

1. First I downloaded Samsung Kies software from Samsung.com. I connected the S2 with a micro USB cable to my computer. I can't get Bluetooth to work with Kies, a warning is displayed that Android phones and Kies don't work with Bluewtooth.

2. One Kies connects with your phone, you will see a "Sync" option on the top tool bar between "Basic Information" and "import/Export". Click on "Sync".

3. For your calendar, select "Sync schedule with Outlook" (Kies names the calendar as "schedule"). I picked the "Selected Schedule Folder" option and picked Mailbox-your name>Calendar.

4. I selected the periods and entered dates.

5. I clicked the "Sync" button in the upper right corner of Kies and the sync was completed in about 1 minute.

When I get my exhange set up I hope to have real time updating.

I came from Blackberry and while I thought Blackberry Desktop Manager was poor software, Kies is worse in my opinion. Not the best options, but it does work.

I hope this helps and good luck.

after a failed attempt by Kies I decided to try CompanionLink PC + DejaOffice on the phone.
From 2 days I am struggling with the problem of USB. Still not able to start the synchronization.

Before I had HTC with Windows Mobile 6. It was slow, crashed often, but at least it worked, and synchronization with Outlook was perfect. I just had to connect the phone to the USB cable and not worry about anything.
Outlook is the most important for a phone so complex.

Hey Guys.
I dont understand how it can be that the best smartphone on the market today, cannot get a simple task as syncing to outlook done. One can only come to a conclusion that Google has some kind of reason not to let their OS sync with a MS program... Or maybe it is Samsungs fault... I realy dont know and i am really thinking to go back to my N8 that has its problems but is a much more business oriented smartphone.

I use Plaxo.  There is a small fee but it works silently in background with very few problems. (plaxo.com)

This is the first phone I have bought since about 1990 that didn't have a native Outlook sync program in the box with the phone.

When I update Kies to last version , it begin failed (just close itself immediate without some exception) when try to connect outlook folder or just enter to synch page.

In previous version of kies I not have problem. Just in last version.
