Exchange Email Active Sync Setup Could Not Finish

Hi,
I received the following error when I setup the Exchange Active Syn email account

Setup could not finish
Activation Failed.  Unable to connect to network. Try again with network provider default APN.

In additional of that, tried to setup Samsung Account through the phone also failed.  It says something like couldn't connect to server.

I have done the following
- Mobile service provider confirm APN setting is correct
- Confirm able to browse Internet and receive Gmail with 3G ( after turn of Wifi )
- Confirm able to browse Internet and receive Gmail with Wifi ( after turn off 3G )
- Confirm able to setup the Exchange email account in iPhone ( So, not server or ISP firewall block issue )


Suspect the phone couldn't talk to Samsung server for activation. 

Does anyone face similar problem and know how to resolved the problem?

same here. the phone was working fine last week or two before. I factory reset it this week end and it behave like this.

In my case, my router suggested that it was trying to connect to samsungmobile.de server for something. most likely their registration service is down or whatever.

what is ridiculous is this is nothing but an email application, why go to the length of registration ? and based on the version number it is tied to android(my android is 2.3.4 and the email version is exactly the same).

sounds like google has written something with activesync and need to pay microsoft in a per registration basis ?

Looks like it's been fixed.  It was a Samsung server issue. (It has been off line for several days i have been told..)
I've just redone my settings and activesync with exchange now works..

I beat my head against this problem for hours. Then I found a very simple solution. I synced to Exchange using the CALENDAR app, not the email app. Within Settings on the Calendar is 'Calendar Sync.' I chose Exchange, put all the normal user/server info in there and it was synced in about 20 seconds. I checked the email app and magically it had synced as well. The trouble really seems to be in the email app. When I synced through the calander, it worked just as fast as the HTC phone I did a few days earlier.
