MHL to HDMI adaptor for SGS II

Hi!

I just received my MHL - HDMI adaptor! It's a small device. Plugs into the SGS II USB connector, and into the TV HDMI plug. It also requires power through its own USB connector (say from one of the USB host plugs of the TV) and then automatically your TV gets the display of the phone on it. Great to watch movies, show powerpoint presentations... Only drawback is that some applications like the camera don't display over MHL-HDMI link. But music, video player do, very nicely.

There's no way to get around that not using Samsung's adapter is there?
Our charge plug is a hair bigger than a mini USB, and I don't think an outside source makes a HDMI-MHL cable. I'm gonna try and track one down, but not too hopeful
