Did you ever get this fixed??
There is an article at the link below that explains how to update the firmware w/o using keycodes

Perhaps this may help someone else in the same position.

Hey all. I wasn't happy with the SGS1 camera quality so I went on a search for a firmware update. All routes lead me to the Driod Tips website as stated in the post above this one.

However, having followed the directions, it has made the camera worse! Worse in the sense that it's not working at all! The front camera works mind but all my photography apps also read the error message.

Now I'm completely stuck with no camera... What should I do?!

I've factory resetting a couple times but that makes no difference!

PLEASE HELP!

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.

If you have any questions, please do a search before posting a new thread and if you can't find anything, then try to put the new thread into the correct forum.

Hello all. It's been a while. I had a thread of my own on this issue and with the help of omnian, various methods/techniques were tried but didn't work. In the end, I just took it back to where I bought it from (o2) and they sent it to one of their own repair centres. 7 days later, I get a text to tell me my phone had been repaired and it's ready for pickup.

All fixed, camera works a treat and for some reason, they gave it back to me on Froyo. Got rid of that straight away!

Anyway, if you've exhausted all other methods, it may just be best to take it back or to a Samsung dedicated repair centre.
