Yesterday, mid conversation my SGS decided it wouldn't send any of my sms messages. Receiving sms messages is no problem and calls work fine both ways; MMS Messages also send with no issue. Data connections are fine, I've been receiving data through both edge and 3G. The only issue is that i can not send sms messages no matter what the length.

I was running Darky's ROM v9.2 but as an attempt to fix it i reflashed (wipe) to Darky's ROM v9.3, it did not fix the issue. I've tried sending them from different locations, flicking airplane mode on and off.

I've tried using both the stock Android messaging app and Handcent SMS App.

Does anyone have any insight on what is causing this, it's rather annoying and searching has been fruitless, i can't find anyone else who has even had this issue.

Thanks in advance, Tom.

go into the Dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*

It will bring a menu Select Phone.

Then Scroll down to SMCS.

Press refresh does i show the number?

This is your SMS Service Center Code. Check with your provider if it's correct.

Peace.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

My SMCS number was set to 00, I tried entering the correct number (+447785016005) and pressing update but it likes to reset to 00.

Again thanks in advance, Tom.  Smile

EDIT: Fix it, i changed the SMCS number in the settings of the messaging app and seems to have stuck. Thanks a lot for the help, especially how fast you were!

I'll be sticking around!

Cheers, Tom.  Smile

Did you get it fixed?

if you didn't then ask your carrier for it.

Mine shows 07016995060003f3,

When I asked my Carrier what is the SMCS number they told me

009659000303

Thanks for the Rep.

Peace.

2. It will bring a menu Select Phone.  100%-ok

3. Then Scroll down to SMCS.  100%-ok

3. Press refresh does i show the number? my phone show as
This is your SMS Service Center Code. Check with your provider if it's correct.
Luckily: after referent my phone showed.
SMS service center is: +85516800000

After the above 3 steps, there were nothing change with my phone.
So, please direct me how to deal with it.

Honestly, it don't have any other issues.

You need to check your APN and SMS settings.

SMS issues usually come down to network supplier issues. Failing that, then it may be something to do with the SMS settings in the device.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.

If you have any questions, please do a search before posting a new thread and if you can't find anything, then try to put the new thread into the correct forum.
