need your help.

i just manually setup the gprs setting on my phone so that I can use data service. but still cannot connect to internet.

even if i marked "use packet data" under settings and select the apn from my network the 3g icon does not appear at the notification bar. meaning 3g/data is not activated.

my network provider also sent me the settings but to no avail.

please advise.

If you've successfully setup a new APN and have ACTIVATED it, you shouldn't be getting any problems. Check this website:

http://www.spotnblog.com/solution-different-kinds-of-data-networks-in-status-bar-for-android-os/data-network/

There is a little table of icons and the first three relate to Data Networks. Have you seen any of those icons?

You have to create a new APN, save it and then activate it for your Data Network to work.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.

If you have any questions, please do a search before posting a new thread and if you can't find anything, then try to put the new thread into the correct forum.

@akhtar found the reason why i cannot see the data network icon even if it is activated. My phone always has the ROAMING ICON indicator even if I'm on my home network. Do you have an idea how to remove it. I have the darkyom 10.2.2 on my phone.

This has been my problem since I got my phone. It will disappear in few hours but most at the time it is roaming mode. Do I have to reinstall another firmware? If yes, what will be the best firmware.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!
