Whether I'm writing a text or surfing the net, the search option opens up automatically and I have to keep pushing the back button to return to what I was doing. I did the Froyo update thinking that it might fix the problem but it keeps opening by itself. It's extremely annoying. On another note it might be caused by some sort of bug. Try a factory reset or something of this nature.
