It would be helpful if people would add some information about their device when asking questions. If you look in your settings and select About Phone it will tell your Model number and Build number. This along with your carrier and if you're rooted and/or unlocked could help a lot. Remember this is a global forum Laugh

If you want to add the info to your sig click the profile then pick forum profile information from the side bar. You can make it fancy with HTML if you want.

And we have sister forums for the US versions (looks like Rogers and Telus in Canada will also be US versions).

Well my model # is GT-I9000 and build # is ECLAIR.I9000BUJG2.
The phone is SIM free was bought in Gremany and I live in Israel.
Is that OK? I don't know but the SGS is working very good except I have some problems with the Headset jack looks like loose contacts inside, I wonder if it is repairable.

On another thread I read there is something about how the pins are polarized. Try a search on headphone connection.

just try to plug in thr jack a bit further
i had the same problem but feel free to slide the jack a bit more
it will help i think
