I used this phone almost for one month and I found that the battery icon status on the top doesn't update. It always show full status even though the battery level is drop down to 85% shown in settings->about phont->battery level.

This problem just start occur from yesterday.

i use a battery indicator app. the app does show some what lower than the icon, ya. so not sure which one is correct. i know the icon can reach orange if it's too low, as a warning per se.

Hi, Just want to say I've been having the same problem with the battery icon status not updating. It also seems to prevent the normal warnings from appearing about battery life so phone has gone dead while in use. After I've recharged my phone from empty I will see if a simple restart fixes the problem if it happens again. Beyond this I guess it's a matter of charging daily unless someone out there has a solution?  Sticking out tongue

Only occasionally. When I'm through the working day, usually I end up with 60 or 70%. If I see it's still full, I just hard restart the phone. The icon definitely will be updated.

Also, I've been on firmware JF3 for ages, now finally Kies provided me with JM2. And maybe some people complained about the battery life to Samsung, so they decided to cheat.

JF3: 88%, first drop in battery icon, about 5 pixels wide
JM2: 79%, first drop in battery icon, about 3 pixels wide

Haha, it's just psychological, the battery is still the same, they just want to hide it better so people won't complain so much.

But as I said, even with extreme usage, at the end of the working day it's around 20-50%, still enough, so it's fine for me.
