Is there a way to suppress the battery notification when it's fully charged to a 100%?  It's really annoying especially it's usually charged up at 1 or 2 AM when I sound asleep.

I dont personally think its that loud to be honest, but they do say if you leave the phones in when they are fully charged it can cause more damage so that may be why the notification is there in the first place.

I don't hear the sound, just get a visual when the battery is charged. That is because I set the phone to silent in the top menu pulldown from the homescreen. Of course, that will turn off other sounds as well, so it might not be the solution that works best for you.

Also, I keep my battery on the charger cord all day, plugged into my USB connection on my laptop at work. I do this because I read that modern batteries have a switch to automatically block charging once they are at 100% and the device starts running completely on main power.

I did this with my previous cellphone for the whole time I had it, 20+ months and never replaced the battery nor had damage to my phone.

Sorry, to make it clear, I do put it on the Silent mode when I go to sleep.  So I don't hear the sound but it does vibrate.  The reason I do want to keep it vibrating because I do receive emergency alerts from work to this thing.  I turn the sound off because I don't want to wake up the baby.  I put the phone right next to me on the bed side table.  I just do not consider the cell phone battery charged up as an emergency.  I need my sleep Happy

has anyone gotten anywhere with this - this is a real pain if you have to charge your phone as you sleep as i do - i don't wake myself but my wife wakes regularly with this ridiculous thing which ruins an otherwise excellent device

I'm going to bump this too...
Why oh why? I have the "notification" set to a loud distinct tone so as not to miss a message, If I'm getting one, its going to be important. Not being able to differentiate between and being forced to hear a battery full tone is really (the rest of the rant is being self censored...)

So are my only options to demand a refund for a broken phone and get a HTC or root it (and get them to guarantee my warranty because of it)? HTC seem to do ok without this stupidity-and even task the phone to silently run down so its not left at 100%

So incredibly annoyed

PROBLEM SOLVED !     NO COST !
I saw this suggestion in another forum and it WORKS, so I'm passing it on !
Set the global notifications to SILENT.
Set the notification on Gmail to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.
Set the notification on messaging to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.

You'll still have a tone when you 1st plug the phone in to the charger, but NO tone when it's fully charged.

Hi T75,
unfortunately your trick doesn't work for me (SGS 2 with original ROM / France). This problem is terrible for me too, I can't imagine why the engineer thought it would be a good idea to annoy everyone with this ! Damn, it's harder to configure than a Nokia 3210 from the 20th century, and sometimes it has less options !

(Also) incredibly annoyed.

OS 2.2 gets rid of this I think, and what I used to do, if I remember right, is go to settings, sound, and turn the system volume down.  That kills boot up/down sound and battery only I'm pretty sure.

Hi rulz,

From the XDA Developers Forum, I have implemented the following solution successfully on my Samsung Galaxy S Epic 4G (with GingerBread.EI22), which has eliminated the "Battery fully charged. Unplug charger" notification from my phone. Good Luck!
