I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S 2, today. its been on the charge for 4 hours from the mains power and then another 2 from my usb on my computer. all it is doing is flashing a battery icon with a white circle inside it, there are several times where I think the phone has tried to turn on, then just went back to the battery screen. Any tips?

I 'll bet that your battery is defective, this happened to me and I replaced the battery with an OEM one and it worked fine, I'm not an expert but I think the software in the charger checks for the battery's health before it allows the phone to  boot up, Sorry it took so long to respond, I just saw your post this AM. Try to disconnect the charger from the power and boot the phone if it works on battery alone, your problem is between that battery and Samsung's charger program. You can also buy a small charger and charge that battery externally.
