How do i disable the samsung.app.screencapture service all together?  It keeps coming on and rather than letting me push the home button to get to the main page...it takes a screen shot.  Its super annoying and i want it gone.  anyone have any ideas?

Are you holding the "Return" key when pressing the "Home" button?

no.  I just wanna go back.  so i press the back button...teh light goes off.  and then everything is unresponsive from that point.  The home button then when pressed alone will take a screen shot instead of go to the home page. Its really annoying and i am tempted to destroy it!

No, don't destroy it.  Shocked

Your device might have a hardware failure. Can you bring it back to the shop and claim warranty?

Any luck on this? Mine has exactly the same problem. When I go to settings/applications/running services/ I can press stop but that seems to have no effect. When I try settings/applications/manage applications and selectcom.sec.android.app.screencapture it does not allow me to do an Uninstall; only allows a Force Stop. The Force Stop also has no effect. This problem severely hampers the device's utility.

I never has this issue on my earlier Galaxy S running Android 2.1, but when that died they replaced with a new phone running 2.2, with Froyo.UGJL2. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am starting to think that this is a really poorly engineered phone. It is my first frustration of any kind with a Samsung product, but now I regret not going with an iphone, as distasteful as that is to say, given that I don't like the lack of freedom/choice the way Apple operates. But at least it operates, which is more than I can say for the Galaxy S.
