Hi Guys

Please can someone help me, I'm desperate here!

Earlier today I upgraded to the new version of Kies, I plugged my Galaxy S in and it told me new firmware was available so I hit the upgrade button, after over an hour nothing was happening, then I noticed that Kies said it had lost connection with my GT-i9000.

I now have a blank screen with a picture showing a phone, then in the middle and exclamation mark followed by a computer screen. I have tried reconnecting but nothing I seem to do helps.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Have you tried pulling the battery for a minute?

If it starts ok, plug back into kies and see if it still gives you options to update,  if it doesn't click on tools in kies for firmware recovery.

If it doesn't start try entering recovery mode (vol+ & home & power buttons)  and factory reset (you will lose all data tho).

Forget Kies and use Odin or Heimdall!
