I have a Samsung galaxy and using the email application i set up an email account using my work email. It does work however i do not receive notifications when mail arrives.

I also have set up a google account, which provides notification fine.

I have checked the setting and notification is set to on.

Can someone give assistance here?

email notifications are my biggest complaint, I can't depend on them. I often hit refresh or check for new email as I never get alerts anymore

What email app are you using? I am using the default email client and mine is notifying me. If you are using the default try this. Open the email program -> Menu Button -> Click More -> Click Settings -> Click Notification Settings. Make sure what you want is checked. Sticking out tongue

When you set up the account in Samsung's Email default client follow the below steps, then you will receive the notifications instantly

1. type in your gmail address
2.Password
3.click " manual setup"
4.click " Microsoft exchange account"
5. domain\username : type "\ your full gmail address"
6. type your password
7. exchange server type " m.google.com" ("m.hotmail.com" for hotmail acc)
8. select "use secure connection (SSL)"
9. then "next"

This should able to create gmail account with push function

hope the above can help,

Yeah mine hasnt worked since Froyo update either. I want to delete account and recreate (its not a gmail account nor an exchange ) but i cant find an option to delete the account.

Any suggestions on a better email app that works fine, i need to be notified of messages as soon as they come in.
