A good day to all,

I downloaded the latest Task Manager from Samsung Apps, thumbs up for the latest version for having a features to clear RAM, either level 1 or level 2.

But somehow, suddenly, out from no where, the 'clear RAM' feature disappeared from the Task Manager. Kinda like the Task Manager in my SGS, from latest version [ comes with 'clear RAM' feature ] , became previous version.

Anyone encounter the same issue? I do not know if it is just a coincidence or not, but after the disappearance of the 'clear RAM' feature, few issues started to arise.

1) Connect to WIFI, if screen lock, unlocked screen, WIFI icons wouldn't reappear / only 3G icon appear. Check notification area, WIFI selected. Check settings > wireless and network > WIFI setting, WIFI is selected [ ticked ], if I choose tp re-scan for network, phone 'hangs'. Needs to wait for like 20 to 30 seconds, then error message showing 'settings is not responding'

2) If phone is locked, try to unlock phone by swiping the 'unlock pattern'. Could see the screen showing the 3 x 3 pattern dots. But when try to swipe the pattern, no respond from the screen. It happens few times.

And I could safely say, the issue happened only after the 'clear RAM' feature disappeared from the Task Manager. And I did not install or uninstall programs before or after the 'clear RAM' feature disappeared.

How can I uninstall or reinstall the Task Manager? Because right now, I couldn't see Task Manager appear in Samsung Apps Lists.

Any feedback / help is very much appreciated.

Yup, done that, and the issue still there.

Guys, anyone have any idea what does these 2 applications do? In Advanced Task Cleaner Pro, I notice these 2 application running

1) com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.una
2) com.sec.android.providers.downloads

If not mistaken, I didn't really notice these 2 applications running before or maybe I wasn't aware previously. But as I tested out by manually 'End Task' these 2 applications, the mentioned issues occurred.
*could anyone check whether these 2 applications running on you SGS. Thanks

Previously, before I noticed about these 2 applications running, normally I would 'End Task' all the applications in Advanced Task Cleaner Pro lists, but the mentioned issues never occurred.

They are both suppose to starts when device start-up, but since I'm using Advance Task Killer, they're not running...

Both are default in your device. One seems like the Samsung App Store and the other maybe is something to get data from your provider...

What is the version of your firmware? The latest one already included the Samsung Task Manager, thus no need to install from the App Store.

If you still facing the problem, try updating your firmware. If not, then you should consider a factory reset.

Hi Omnian,

Thanks for the detailed explanations.

When you mentioned:

"They are both suppose to starts when device start-up, but since I'm using Advance Task Killer, they're not running..."
- does that mean you disabled these 2 applications during start-up?
- but here's the weird things, if you're able to disable these 2 applications during start-up or
from running in the background, your SGS is stable, with non-so-what-ever-issue
  -I'm-facing
- mine, these 2 applications auto start-up and runs in the backgroud
- if I try to end-task it, my SGS becomes unstable

And yes, I'm running the latest firmware from Samsung and that is where I got the 'Task Manager' widget auto installed.

Was thinking to reset my SGS, but what the heck, must as well wait for official Frory to be released.

And again, thanks for your input.

Yes, they must have been closed by the Advance Task Killer. I've set it to close unuse apps automatically. Mine doesn't give me any problem since the beginning.

Just check KIEs, still no Froyo as at today  Sad

Errr.....you wanna try something?

Goto [Settings] > [Applications] > [Manage applications], tap on those 2 apps and clear their data and cache (if it lights up).

iamwill good for you..

After hard reset my SGS, I went into Samsung Apps and downloaded the latest version of Task Manager. The RAM management is back in my Task Manager.

Here is the screenshot of what I'm referring to as 'clear RAM feature' a.k.a RAM management.
