Ive just noticed this a few days ago when my dad accidently recieved a text meant for my girlfriend. It was innocent enough so no biggie... just thought id made a misstake. But it happend again tonight, texting her and this time a friend recieved it. The thing that happend was this: When pressing my friends name, his and my dialogue showed up as it supposed to. When pressing my girlfriends name her and my dialogue showed but with his picture and number at the top. WTF? After 10 minutes or so... it went back to normal again.

Ya something like that happened to me once. After texting someone, another message arrived from someone else, when I replied, it sent my reply to the first person I was texting and not the new person. The other person's message was inexplicably part of the original person's dialog box. What I did was delete the rogue message and text that other person directly from their contact settings.

So far, the problem hasn't repeated itself.

This is a known android bug, not just limited to the Galaxy S. There has been various attempts to alert the devs to this (major privacy issue!) but alas, no fix has been made yet.

I also suffer from the same problem, in one instance sent it to my girlfriend but my mum got it, and another sent to my girlfriend, and a colleague got it!

Many threads about this on the internet, the one i follow is here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/android/thread?tid=345259e6d424bad3&hl=en

Hey guys,
these are some problems I have found with the galaxy s. Hopefully they will be fixed in the next update. Maybe samsung will notice this post.
Here they are:
the txt message notification often has the wrong name of sender
There are Updates to uninstalled apps
Incredibly slow media scanner
It says unable to connect wifi and you have to press retry

Does anyone know any fixes to these problems? My phone is rooted
Thanks,
Ilan

The wrong sender name is an android issue. Has that on my hero.

The wifi issue maybe something to do with your the setup for it. I hear it didn't like it set to wep so have a look at that.

i seem to have a random problem with my phone suddenly changing who my messages go to in a thread. i'll be texting with someone and suddenly my phone will say the message was from someone else, even though it was from person A and is in person A's thread still. it will read that the message in the thread is from person a after i exit messaging, but at the top (where it says "name <m>") it will change to person b. the only way to fix it is to create a new message to person A, sometimes it will correct the thread and sometimes it will start a new one. does anyone know why it does this? does it even makes sense?

Hi all

This only happens when on a threaded message, I reply to a friends text and for what ever reason it gets sent to someone totally different. First sign this will happen is when I get a delivery report saying its been delivered to a random contact from my contact list. If I then send another text this one defo goes to the wrong contact!!.

Not a good thing to happen as 1, my boss got one of them.....  2, the Mrs now knows I was out with friends instead of at work!!!  Evil
Switching on a off again resolves this prob but my phone now takes 10 mins to fully boot up.

Any thoughts, appreciated.

Occasionally I receive an sms that has the wrong sender name displayed. This sms will go into the sms string that previously existed between myself and someone else.
I also have the occasional sms that gets sent to the wrong person.
This happens when I open an existing sms history and then send a reply. The sms sometimes goes to a complete different person.
As you can imagine this has the potential to cause a huge problem for me.

here is a new weird problem with my samsung galaxy s, well shared a load to a differetn number ofcourse and after sharing. whenever that number is texting me, his number is not registering and the number has "2" in front instead of "09". (whenever you share a load, you change the "09" of the number into "2", that will become "29158456326" when sharing load (GLOBE)). now what happens, is after i shared a load with that number, everytym he texts me, his number is no longer registring in my contacts and his number appears as "29158456326" instead of "09158456326". so ofcourse, when im going to reply using that number, it will not go directly to the number it will be sent to the "29158456326". what can i do???? HELP!!!!!
