Hi,
has anybody else had problems with sending & receiving MMS. When trying to send - it just says sending & when received one it just says - downloading.
All other functions that would be connected with this work - SMS OK, Email OK, Internet OK, just can't get MMS to work.
I've spoken to Orange tech team & even they can't figure it out. All settings on phone are according to Orange as they should be.

Anybody any ideas???

Thanks S

I haven't tried sending yet, but what I did was:

In messages, open settings, acroll down to MMS settings and disable "auto receive"

Next, open an MMS message and click download. Brought the pic right up.

The above answer worked for me to receive an mms thats been downloading for the last few days so thanks  Laugh

to send you need to activate data network mode (press and hold lock key to do that) have just found this out by accident lol but it def works as long as your settings are right

this also works to receive..if data network mode is activated and auto-retrieve is on your mms will download automatically and very quickly

hope this helps!

The lock key is the on/off button. I think MMS uses data (at least it has an apn) so if you don't have data enabled or are on WIFI, you may not be able to send recieve.

All confirmed.  I noticed that holding on/off/lock opened "phone options" but never thought to turn "on" data.  However, I don't have a data plan, so while everything worked perfectly (including sending the "unsent" pix that were still sitting in my messages area for weeks) I'm interested if I get billed for data vs just my text charge. I'll check back when I figure it out.

Talk to your provider. They are the ones who said you get free MMS. Perhaps you need a separate APN settings for MMS.

I already talked to them (it's vodafone portugal) and they said that there was no way around it and that I would have to turn on the data transfer and pay the fee if I wanted to receive or send an mms...anyone know how to solve this? :S

Thanks for your suggestions. I have now tried with and without data network mode switched on and auto-retrieve on and off but nothing seems to work.

I have never tried to send, just trying to receive and they just sit there saying "downloading".

Any other ideas????
