Just bought a Vibrant on ebay with 2.1 update 1 installed. 

Problem: when I power off it restarts by itself after a couple of seconds.  I also note that it boots up immediately when I insert the battery.

I have tried: "wipe data / factory reset" and "reinstall packages"  (both from the power button / vol up / vol down during reboot menus.)

I'm at a loss.  Is this a hardware issue?  Software issue?

Please help as I need to decide if I need to return this phone.
