Hi to everyone,

Today i noticed a pink spot when using the camera on my Galaxy S. The pink spot occurs in taking pictures of halftone backgrounds and has about the size of half screen width and height.

The pink spot occurs both in display and in the saved picture itself.

Atached to this post is an example of the pink spot. Its the original small size pic. The resolution of the pic doesn't seem relevant, it occurs at any pic/resolution size.

The phone has been updated to the latest firmware. I dont know exactly if it allready occured before or just after the update.

Hardware reset doesn't solve the problem

The issue has been reported as hardware related on other brands phones (HTC, just google and you will find out) but allso on Samsung Wave:
The picture and  thin this post is very similar as my "wood floor" picture
http://www.samsungwaveforum.com/samsung-wave-troubleshooting/camera-pink-spot-problem/
Anyway today i send back the phone for repair and hope that this pink spot problem will be solved.

Are there other people with this particular pink spot problem on Samsung Galaxy S? Please let me know.

Galaxy S, 2 weeks old.

Hello Blugenes,
I have the same problem. Yesterday I sent my Galaxy s for the second time for repair, they did not do anything the first time    Undecided. Did you get your phone repaired?

I just bought Samsung Galaxy S2 few days ago, and just changed due to pink spot issue. Unfortunately, the problem is still there.

Any solution to the pink spot issue?

Thanks.

Hello Prince-W,

My Galaxy S was ok during the first 2 month, then the pink spot appeared. Some people talk about adjusting the white balance. I think it's a hardware issue and that it's not acceptable. I have 2 friends hoe owns a Galaxy s and don't have this pink spot. You should return your phone and ask for a good product again. Good luck.

hi Goodflyer,

Yes, I saw the post about adjusting the white balance too. And also saw someone's posted that he got the same pink spot problem on his 3rd exchanged phone. Do you think, it's some strange coincidence for that guy to receive 3rd replacement with the same problem?

Thanks for your advise. Most probably will send it back to shop again in these 2 days.

Hello Prince-W,
I think that receiving for the third time a "replacement" with the same problem is a very disappointing situation and bad luck. Anyway a camera with a pink spot is not usable. I have 3 digital camera's and never have had this problem. Besides the people I know with a good working Galaxy s, I know also 2 guy's with brand new Galaxy aces and none of them have this problem. Such hardware issue is totally unacceptable, specially because the Galaxy s and even more the Galaxy s2 are the top products of the Samsung family. I am still waiting for the second reparation of my phone and do truly expect to receive it repaired or replaced. I wish you much success with a quick replacement or repair of your Galaxy s2!
