Ringing tone not ringing during incoming calls

Why is my Galaxy S ringing tone quite often not ringing during my incoming calls? Have to off and on the device again to fix the problem.

I would like to inform you that i've been experiencing this problem with the phone i.e. quite
often my phone not ringing when receiving calls.
- the phone only vibrates but no ringing tones even tough the ringtone settings not in the silent mode.
- i have to off the phone and on it again to get the ringing tone working again.
Do you have any idea what is the cause of this problem?

phone specs:
My phone: Samsung Galaxy S GT-19000,
Firmware version:2.3.3 Gingerbread,
Baseband Version: I9000XXJVK
Year:2011

Are you using personalized ringtones (i.e., mp3s)? Have you noticed problems with playing videos or mp3s on your phone? If so, uninstalling the Twitter app MIGHT solve your problems.
