Hello all,

I've a new phone (Samsung Galaxy i9000) and I've some problems to use it.

When I receive a call :
- The ringtone start at a low volume for 2 seconds and it gets louder. Is it possible to get the phone to ring at loud without the 2 seconds low ?
- When someone call me, there is a voice saying : Incoming call from XXX. Can I disable it ?

I've other problems with my contact list :
- I see in the contact list a big list of contacts, there are some contacts that are a compagny who i sent a mail one time. On my old HTC Magic, only my real contact were shown. Is it possible to get the same thing ? I've found an option saying "display only contact with phone number", but some of my real contacts don't have a phone number.
- I'm trying to add some contacts in a group in my phone. When I get on the group screen, I touch Add contact, but i get an empty screen and i can't add a contact. Can someone explain me how to add contacts in a group ?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 with Android 2.1 (T-Mobile)

Thanks for you help !!!

The ringer thingy is really strange, I don't have any settings for both problems.

As for contacts, don't uncheck the "only with real phone numbers" option, in the same screen, I think you need to uncheck the Google account.
As for Add member to group, it's blank because you have no Contacts on your phone or SIM (if you do have them on your SIM, use the copy to phone command) ! First add one and then it will appear in the list to add it into a group. The contacts you're currently seeing, are probably from Google or Exchange. You have to manually add them to your phone first.

But all my contacts are in Google. But in Google, there is :
My Contacts (my real contact)
Other contacts (all the mail where I sent something one time)

I don't know if it's possible to keep all my contacts linked to google without seeing the full list ?

Thanks for you help !!!

In your specific situation, you have to manually add those Google contacts you want to your phone memory, and then uncheck the Show Google Accounts.
That's because the selecting/filtering options are Phone/SIM/Google and nothing else below.
If you add them only by name (to the Phone memory), your SGS should automatically link them to the Google contact (with phone number), which means you don't have to fill in all the phone numbers again.

Most Samsungs ring low then turn up the volume. To get around that you can create a ring tone that's extra loud for the first couple seconds then drop back in volume so it all sounds the same.

Are you running Vlingo? It announces stuff - but not calls.

then choose "contacts to display" and choos "phone"

now go back to your contacts you will find empty or maybe few names, ok go to menu and choos the export /import and import contacts from the sim card
