When I click on the 'Navigation via Navigon' icon the warning message says that the download may take up to 2GB.  Why so large a download?  I assume that most navigaton apps use Google Maps & that the apps job is mainly just to detect where you are & then request the next map from Google.

Is it possible to download & store on the phone say all of the maps necessary for your city, state, or country for offline use?  I think that that sort of map is what most older incar satnat devises like TomTom do?

How is this Navigaton different from the other Navigaton icon which is prinstalled on the phone?  I tried this out last week & it called out every turn & got up to our location OK.  The only problem was that the maps & voice weren't quick enough for you to be notified before the next turn?  Would that be because the cause of this a slow phone download speed, the program or something else?

I also tried out the GPS navigation & went to a shop.  It told be I had reached my destionation when I had.  But several minutes later while walking in shop I heard phone saw that GPS signal had been lost.  I had already pressed the home button to get a list of recenly used apps & turned everything off but apparentlt this app still was tring to be on.  Why?
