My extra Micro SD card doesn't work

I have a 2GB micro SD card which I used in my Nokia 6220 classic and now I would like to use it in my SGS. I formatted (FAT) on my pc and also in my Nokia, but somehow my SGS isn't able to read it. It seems the Nokia has done something to the card which makes it incompatible to any another device...  Any ideas or should I just give up and buy a new card?

tried formatting it in the phone itself? My new SD didnt work out of the box - had to do a format on the galaxy

It only shows an icon at the beginning (when you enter the SD card), when the phone is scanning the SD card for media. After the process is complete, you get no notification about the SD card being inserted.

Please be advised that WAVE and GALAXY S have different opperating systems, so the functions are not the same. Even though they run the same TouchWiz skin....

The SD card is not supposed to be formatted in any special way. I can read any SD card in my phone. Make sure that the SD card is not passwork protected (this is a feature of some Nokia phones) or that your phone is not deffective.

You can double check by connecting your phone to the PC using a micro-USB cable, with the phone set to Mass Storage. See if you get TWO "Removable drives" on your computer: one is the SD and the other is the Internal Memory.
