I have a 2GB micro SD card which I used in my Nokia 6220 classic and now I would like to use it in my SGS. I formatted (FAT) on my pc and also in my Nokia, but somehow my SGS isn't able to read it. It seems the Nokia has done something to the card which makes it incompatible to any another device...  Any ideas or should I just give up and buy a new card?

But then does it bring up a little icon on the phone to say the memory card is working?

It only shows an icon at the beginning (when you enter the SD card), when the phone is scanning the SD card for media. After the process is complete, you get no notification about the SD card being inserted.

Please be advised that WAVE and GALAXY S have different opperating systems, so the functions are not the same. Even though they run the same TouchWiz skin....

The SD card is not supposed to be formatted in any special way. I can read any SD card in my phone. Make sure that the SD card is not passwork protected (this is a feature of some Nokia phones) or that your phone is not deffective.

You can double check by connecting your phone to the PC using a micro-USB cable, with the phone set to Mass Storage. See if you get TWO "Removable drives" on your computer: one is the SD and the other is the Internal Memory.

Hope this helps.

Dear friends,
I got a Silicon Power microSDHC 8GB class 4 for my Samsung Galaxy S.
After a week the memory couldn't been recognized by the phone. It locked and could not be formatted. Furthermore, the memory could not operate in other devices, either, so I gave it back and replaced it.
The same happened again and I replaced the card for once again, but I am afraid to use this card to this smartphone.  So, I introduce you to avoid this memory card.
I do not know if it is the memory card or the phone device or just their combination.
But, do not use this recipy.

An SDcard needs to be formatted with a pc before inserting it in the phone.  Wink Wink
