Galaxy S won't turn on after trying to upgrade firmware

I was just upgrading the phones firmware through Samsung Kies and at the end of the upgrade it said there was an error and it could not finish so it told me to run emergency firmware recovery. I tried to run it but again there was an error and it didn't finish because the device (phone) needed to be rebooted and then reconnected.

I tried turning off the phone but that didn't work so I took out the battery and now it won't turn on at all.

I have no idea what's happened. Can anyone help out on what I can do?

Firstly turn on phone and remove battery, wait 10mins, replace and try to start again.

If not work, try to power up into recovery mode volume up & home button & power. If you can, try a factory reset (this will delete your data tho).
