Hi All,

I'm located in Bangalore, India. When using Maps on my Samsung Galaxy S, its showing my location to be somewhere in Canada. Why is this so?

I have WiFi connectivity currently on my mobile. Is there any settings that needs to be enabled for the maps to give my correct location?

Thanks.

Settings -> Location and Security -> Use GPS satellites needs to be enabled for the current location to work.

This is enabled for me, as well as the Wifi based location. Both options are enabled. However, still showing incorrect location.

Try disabling the Wifi based location. Does it still show you in Canada?

If it's still wrong try downloading "GPS Test" from Chartcross form the Android marketplace and running it. Does it see any satellites? Can it correctly place you in the little world map at the bottom?

Thanks - I tried this, and later realized that It was showing me incorrect location as I was trying to use it inside my apartment which has couple of floors more above me. So, due to this, the phone was unable to get signals from the satellites. When I tried this on my balcony, it showed me correct location.

Thanks very much.
