Hi
My Internal SD card in my Galaxy S is causing problems.
Under 'SD card and phone storage', total space and available space are both 'unavailable'.
The Unmount, Mount and Format options are all greyed out.
I can't take photos or otherwise use the internal SD card.
It used to work until I started using Kies (1.5.1.10074_2). Connecting the phone to my laptop (WinXP SP3) caused it to hang with the message 'Connecting the device, please wait' for at least 10 minutes. I unplugged the USB and found later on that the camera wouldn't work, etc. I don't know if Kies broke it or me removing the USB cable.
Anyone else with this problem?
First of all your internal SD card is not causing any problems. When you connect your USB cable to your computer and mount it, all of those areas in SD card and phone storage are grayed out because you can't access the SD card while it is mounted. To unmount, go to home screen and drag down your notification bar from the top. There should be a section about USB storage, click it and press unmount. This will free your SD card up to do what ever you want. When your SD card is mounted it is ready to transfer data from your computer to your SD card, thats why it doesn't allow you to do anything under that section.
Once you disconnected from your USB cable it should have corrected every issue you listed so your Kies must not be working properly. I wouldn't normally recommend factory reset but in you case it might be your only option. You might want to take it into your local store you bought it at and ask a rep to look at it first. Some of those guys are pretty good with phones.
