How do you make the phone ring for a longer period of time?  My wife has her phone so deeply hidden in the bottom of her hand bag it's always stopped ringing before she can answer.

Thanks in advance

I assume you have voicemail turned on,  so you have to change the vm time-out which is usually set at 15 seconds by default.

In every other phone I have had the vm time-out setting can be found in the voicemail settings,  but not on the Galaxy S... apparently.

But it can be changed by typing a code in the phone dialler.

*61*voicemail number**seconds before vm#

You need to know you're voicemail numer,  this is not your mobile number and can be found in the voicemail settings or by calling your network.

The maximum number of seconds is 30 I believe.

If this fails your network provider should be able to change it for you.
