Home button doesn't work

   From yesterday my home button doesn't work anymore. I didn't hit the phone or anything. When I press it, nothing happens.To use the phone I must press the turn on key. Factory data reset didn't work. Some suggestions?

I just picked a Galaxy S up yesterday from SaskTel (they come from Bell Canada with slightly different settings). Mine is running Android 2.1 update1 date code on the hardware is 10.12 and I am having issues with my menu button and back button (so far my home button is fine), it does not always work in menus where it should.

Are you guys running 2.1 or 2.2?

WOW ive searched all over the web and millons off ppl seem to have this same problem but nobody has the answer??? long story short my home button stopped working as well and im lokking for the solution as well.

I had the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S (Froyo 2.2).  Home button stopped functioning entirely, couldnt lock the screen and the power button menu options disappeared amongst other things.  Was about to do a factory reset and connected my phone 'mass storage' USB mode to my computer to transfer the pictures before being wiped by the reset.  After unplugging the cable the home key/lock screen and power off menu options were all working again!

So before trying a factory reset, try changing Wireless and Networks -> usb settings -> 'mass storage' and connect to a computer then disconnect!
