I read on XDA that Bell programmed some that don't go into recovery mode - I could be wrong on whether mine is one of them. I haven't gotten it to go (I had trouble getting windows to go into recovery mode back in the day as well). Is there a program I can install to get into recovery mode? Darn I need to live in a city with android geeks.

Have you tried holding down the Volume Up, Home (bottom center) and Power buttons, releasing them when you see the boot screen?

I never get to a boot screen when I press those 3 buttons at the same time.

It flashes on and off. Maybe I'm just not holding the buttons correctly?

It flashes on and off the boot-screen?

Try releasing the buttons once you see the screen lights up.

I you're able to connect to Kies, maybe you'd want to try this:

1. Start Kies, connect your device and click "Upgrade Firmware". If it shows "The device can't be upgraded...bla bla bla", continue with steps 2 ~ 4.

2. Close the upgrade window, but leave Kies connected.

3. Download This Registry for your PC and apply it by double clicking it.

4. Now, click on the "Upgrade Firmware" again.

I updated the firmware and it included a fix. Apparently there was a fault in the secondary bootloader. I did use 3 buttons to get into the choice screen then just rebooted. Why yes - I am refraining from rooting Big Grin
