Hey deerattack (peculiar name).

Kies is (lack of better word) sh*t! It should've backed everything up BEFORE upgrading your phone. If you're lucky and Kies did its job, you should be able to find the backup files within the Kies folder in your computer. You may be able to utilise this but I haven't been able to...

If you logged the calender events in your GoogleMail account, that's easily restored by logging in on your phone but your Notes may be gone forever unfortunately.

I had the same issue with Kies; upgraded, couldn't connect again. After a lot of messing around trying to get back in, I wiped my hands with Kies and have been doing my own upgrading since and by using a programme called Odin. The only thing I back up is my contacts but there are apps out there that can back up apps, sms's etc.

If you can't find the back up files, you may have to start from square one.
Sorry dude.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take advantage of having Google on your phone! Save all contacts to GMail and they never get lost, wiped, replaced etc.

Titanium Backup for apps and data. SMS Backup & Restore for messages.

If you have any questions, please do a search before posting a new thread and if you can't find anything, then try to put the new thread into the correct forum.
