My phone was slower after update to Froyo, but a factory reset did the job. You could try pulling the battery for 10 minutes then restarting. It certainly can change the status of your device and will hopefully bring it around. I ended up using Samsung email/social hub when I updated to Froyo. Yahoo works just fine with it.
