Hi!

I have the Galaxy s for 2 weeks now. It played mp3's fine last week, this week i put more mp3's on it ( just 40 more). But now after 15 seconds playing any song, the phone hangs (black screen), and i have to reset it through the button.

Please help. Crying

I am guessing  that it is maybe because of it going into a 'sleep' or energy save mode?
And  that to spare  energy maybe some service needed are disabled?

So if you take those songs off does it start working again? Are you using the stock player? Is your music on the internal or an external card?

Have you tried a battery pull or a factory reset (back up data first)?

(almost) solved. Removing the newer mp3 and flac files solved the issue.

The question now is how do i make sure files i copy to the phone are not causing problems?
I read about copying music files through mediaplayer or kies ensures compatibility.
So simply copying files to phone through windows explorer should not be done?

could you please confirm.
Than you,
Dekay

I copy my files directly using mass storage. You could try a different player for file support.

Transfering directly to the memorycard works fine indeed.
I even installed ftp app to transfer mp3s wirelessly from  my Nas to my phone. Kewl.

Specs
- samsung galaxy GT I9000 android version 2.2 build froyo.xwjpa
- using the default with phone delivered mp3 player.
- Synology Nas
