Hello to everyone,

I'm starting this topic since I didn't find other posts with a similar problem.
I absolutely love my GS but there is just one probleme driving me crazy... If I don't solve this, I think I'm going to change my phone...

I'm under JW1. I experienced this problem on other rom, so I think it's not specific to the JW1.
When I start an opengl game, I can play it like 15 minutes and then the game stops responding. In fact, the game is still running, I can see that on screen and the sound keeps going but the touch screen doesnt react to my finger... I can't even go back to Desktop since the hard keys (home button/power button/sound level button) don't work too.

If I want to go back to normal, I press level up + power button + home button 10 sec and my phone reboots (or I just remove the battery).

Sometimes the game freeze too but it's less usual.
Apparently I've two friend experiencing the same problem.

If I reboot my phone before playing a game, the problem appears less often.

What do u thing about this? Do u have the same problem? Have u found a way to solve it ?

Thanks for your help !

What game is this?

Anyway, there are a few possibilities, the game's buggy, the rom's buggy, you have another buggy app causing havoc.

Either way, take a look at the link in my signature regarding performance. Maybe the suggestions there could help.

You should flash Semaphore kernel or Thunderbolt's script to manage LMK.

Thanks for your answer :-)
I've got this problem in many games like : Asphalt 6, Cordy, Shadowgun...
It's not the Rom (or they are all buggy) as I always get the problem with each rom I test. Maybe an app ? I removed all apps I didn't use and installed a memory clean-up tool, it didn't improve the thing...

That's odd.

Try doing another factory reset and install one game and try playing it. If there's no problem, install another game and try it and so on and so forth. Don't install anything else. If, along the way the problem resurfaces, you know what it is and just uninstall it.

Ok same problem with Semaphore kernel.

Thanks for your help. I will try this... I've made a reset and just installed 3 apps + a game... will see if it will crash tomorrow...

Hey,

I've made some research... In fact my phone can freeze not even in games but in everything...Like every 3 or 4 days even if I don't touch the phone !
Like today : I tried to wake it up but it didn't respond (screen stay black). After some time, it turns on again and it seems the  system has reloaded himself without full reboot (reload of the icon on the desktop, searching for new media on the sd, etc... ).

I looked in the logs, and here what I found :

02-29 20:00:53.945 D/dalvikvm(714): GC_EXTERNAL_ALLOC freed 15K, 37% free 8193K/12935K, external 51174K/51462K, paused 77ms
