Just wondering if anyone else has experienced their Samsung Email app being extremely, painfully slow since upgrading to Froyo?

It was perfect before on Eclaire!! About the only that was!

My phone flies now on Froyo but email is broken, also it doesn't auto fetch, and calender does not synch!

I have read about that problem and it may be that not many people here have upgraded yet OR they don't use the samsung mail client. Share what you find out:)

Wouldn't you imagine that's one of the reasons why Samsung had pull it off the air?  Eyes Rolling

My phone flies now on Froyo but email is broken, also it doesn't auto fetch, and calender does not synch!

I have the same problem as well. It takes 30 seconds to start, 45 more seconds to open the first email. Scrolling emails is almost impossible (while other applications at the same time run fine) It is a very bad email client, does not cache anything, it seems.

One thing that got better, is that exchange calendar sync finally works. Very happy about that.

Since reformatting my phone yesterday via the recovery menu, email is a little better, but still no where near as good as the iPhone's... where I could copy and paste, synch wirelessly, accept calendar appointments with ease, etc..

I had the same problems. After Setting back to Factory Defaults and installing Voodoo Lagix last night, my conclusions are:

- the problem is introduced/highly aggrevated by installing Froyo 2.2 over Eclair 2.1, which i did through Kies with the registry hack two weeks ago.
- a format of the Internal SD Card, followed by a reset to Factory Defaults, solves the problem to a point the email app is useable again (albeit no speed monster). Also, this solved other ittermittent force closes which i was suffering from mostly in Agenda related apps. Of course you will loose all apps and data doing this.
- Applying Voodoo lagfix solved the speed issues almost completely. You can still tell the email app isn't the best programmed app of the bunch, but its perfectly workable. Installing Voodoo was a breeze following the step by step instructions found through project-voodoo.org.

Thanks. Yes mine is a lot better since restoring factory defaults via the recovery menu. I will apply voodooo fix tomorrow and report back.

I have got bids on a Streak though, I don't have much patience for poorly programmed and glitchy phones.

Voodoo applied thankyou that was the easiest guide ever and only took about 5 mins all up.

Email is about 200% faster now, thanks.

Hi Folks,
I am also facing horrible slow email app. I`ve tried several several thing you had mentioned, both JPM and the brand new JPA, actually I failed to install voodoo lagfix, but checked with universal lagfix (ext4) and finally oneclicklagfix V2.2+ (ext2). My quadrant result is 1896 now, which is nice enough, I guess, but email app is still dying. Interesting to see that CPU usage goes up to 60-80% in the meantime.
I am pretty disappointed.  Crying

Do you need two lagfixes? May be something still right with your filing system?

Nooo, sorry, I was not clear enough. I just tried both but separately.
Tonight I got back to JPA againg (received some more hint on flashing, so gave it  a second chance), but the email is still shameful.
